Heyyyyyy!

I'm Sammie!

Founder & instructor, Wild Flo.

A few years ago, if you had met me, I probably would've looked like I had everything together.

I had the finance job. I checked the boxes. I was doing all the things I thought I was supposed to do.

But from the inside? I was burnt out, dealing with chronic pain, and completely disconnected from my body.

For years, I wanted to do a yoga teacher training but kept talking myself out of it. Eventually, I took the leap, and I loved it. Not just the movement, but the personal growth that happened off the mat. It felt like I had finally found something I'd been looking for.

Then, like many people experience, the "high" wore off.

I felt like I was moving backwards in my healing journey instead of forwards. I kept trying to find myself, improve myself, and become a better version of myself.

And honestly? It was exhausting.

Eventually, I just stopped trying.

I stopped trying to make the perfect shape or be the perfect friend.

I stopped being a perfect employee.

I stopped worrying about whether my pose looked right.

I stopped treating movement like another thing I needed to achieve or check off my never-ending to-do list..

Instead, I started playing & starting being messy (this felt disgusting by the way haha).

Eventually after I got comfortable being in the playful and messy mindset I started to notice subtle changes. I laughed more. I explored. I repeated movements. I followed what felt good. My practice became less about performance and more about curiosity (on and off the mat).

Ironically, that's when I felt more "healed" than ever before.

As someone who grew up playing sports and spending time in the gym, I was never naturally flexible. What finally helped me feel at home in my body wasn't forcing traditional shapes. It was using my sports background and tapping into mobility work, anatomy-based movement, and creating flows that felt more like a conversation with my body than a set of rules.

Movement became a dance instead of a test. And that shit was hard as a "perfectionist."

Years later, after recovering from a serious spine injury and experiencing one of the biggest burnout seasons of my life, I found myself back on my mat again.

And I realized something.

A lot of wellness spaces felt disconnected from the reality of the women I knew.

The women I knew were ambitious.

They had big dreams.

They were building businesses, leading teams, navigating life transitions, chasing goals, and carrying a lot on their shoulders.

Yet it often felt like they were being told they had to choose between success and self-care.

Between ambition and softness.

Between strength and healing.

I don't believe it's either/or.

I think it's both.

You can be driven and grounded.

Strong and soft.

Focused and playful.

You can want a big life and still know how to take care of yourself along the way.

That's why I created Wild Flo.

Not as a yoga studio.

Not as a healing space.

But as a community.

A place where ambitious humans can move, connect, challenge themselves, laugh at themselves, and leave feeling a little more alive.

A place where you don't have to be perfect.

A place where you get to be messy for an hour so you can hold your shit together out there.

Around here, we care far less about how a pose looks and far more about how you feel.

We believe movement should be rooted in anatomy, adapted for modern bodies, and infused with curiosity, play, and connection.

Most of all, we believe that growth doesn't have to be so serious.

Wild Flo is for the dreamers, the doers, the creatives, the entrepreneurs, the women in transition, and anyone building a big life while trying not to lose themselves in the process.

I'm so glad you're here.

Let's move, play, and connect.
